Description:

Forty percent of Canada’s petrochemical industry is packed into a 15-square-mile area in Sarnia, Ontario, called the Chemical Valley. More than 60 chemical plants and oil refineries operate there 24/7.

The story of the chemical valley in Lambton County was started in 1857 when crude oil was discovered at Oil Spring, just south of the Town of Petrolia and led to establishing several refineries in the region.

In the 1940s, the WWII economy required to bring the petrochemical companies in the area. Access to raw material and multiple transportation routes helped to develop the chemical industries in Southwestern Ontario.

The chemical companies have been established to ensure a vibrant future for the diversified oil and petrochemical complex.

In this presentation, we will review the industries in Sarnia Chemical Valley and discuss the available opportunities for small companies and startups that can provide services or develop new business with the global market.
